Welcome to the City of Hartford's Tax Collector's Service Page. Information displayed that relates to
individual tax bills may not include certain costs and fees if the account is delinquent.
When a tax bill becomes delinquent, it is subject to enforcement and collection efforts which often
increase the amount due. Balances displayed herein include interest through the last day of the month.
Each month, on the first of the month, additional interest accrues at the legal rate of 1.5% per month
(18% per year). Past-due motor vehicle taxes are referred to our third-party collection agency:

Delinquent real estate taxes result in liens being recorded with the Office of the City Clerk, and
sometimes the City will assign (sell) real estate liens to third-party lien-buyers. In years past,
liens were assigned to American Tax Funding, LLC ("ATF") and to XSPAND, Inc. (a division of J.P.Morgan
Chase). More recently, liens have been assigned to PROPEL Financial Services, LLC ("PROPEL") or
VMF Capital, LLC ("VMF"). For more information about lien assignments, and for contact information
